Duct Feathers!!!

  Here are some super cute duct tape feathers!
  They can be pinned, glued, hung, or taped onto whatever your heart desires.


You will need...
duct tape (I use duck brand)
a craft knife (scissors will work too)
a ruler
and I pinned my feathers to my hair so I needed a bobby pin. You can use whatever works for you.

First, cut a piece of duct tape that is about 6 in. long.

Then fold the piece over (sticky sides together) so that you have a 3 in. piece of tape.

Trace and cut out a leaf-like shape...

 Next, cut slits at an angle along the sides.

On both sides.




Then, cut out a few random slits. Don't try to make the even or symmetrical.




                          
Next, count about 3-4 (depending on how wide or thin your slits are) slits up from the bottom of the feather and cut straight up so you end up with a little stem.



Almost done, now take your feather, and wiggle it, and twist it, and twirl it into the shape you want.
I wanted a little twist on mine, you can see what it looks like in the picture above.
Now do whatever you wish with your duct feather. You can fix it to a headband, or pin it to a blouse, or use it as a bookmark, or whatever. Comment and let us know what you did with yours!

Duct Tape Bow.

These duct tape bows are sooooo easy, and super quick to make.

 

You will need...
Duct tape
Scissors
A ruler
A bobby pin

Measure and cut a piece of duct tape about 6 inches long.
It doesn't have to be exact.

Next, fold the piece of duct tape in half, sticky sides together.
Now you should have a piece of tape about 3 inches long.

  
Now fold the piece like a fan, lengthwise. Fold evenly so that you have 3 creases.

Then cut another piece of duct tape that is about 1/2 inch wide.

Pinch the sides of your fan-folded piece together...

...and wrap the 1/2 inch piece around the middle.

And you should have something like this.

  

  Next take the bobby pin...

...and slip it in between the fold  of the bow,and under the middle wrap piece...

...and push it all the way through.

  Now congratulate yourself, you've just made a duct tape bow!

Add on Fabric flower

This is a very simple project. The flower shown in the photo above is a fairly large flower, this size I would suggest you use for home decor, but would defiantly not recommend for hair wear. I will give you more size variations in tutorial.

You'll need.........

Fabric

Thread and Needle

Scissors

A button

OK, LET'S GET STARTED!!

 To create the same size flower shown in the very first photo, cut a 4 inch wide piece of fabric.

 KraftyTip: To make a smaller size flower, I would suggest no smaller than 2 1/2 inches in width.

 Approx. 30 inches in length.

KraftyTip: Just play with it, does not really matter how long. I suggest a minimum of 20 inches.  

Now begin to sew up one side of the fabric. Starting from the bottom corner of the fabric.The stitches should be about 5/8 of a inch apart.

KraftyTip: Don't think to hard on how far apart your  stitches are. I did not even measure. Just sew very loose stitches.  

 When you've have sewn all the way up your fabric pull the thread. Your fabric should begin gathering.

Now you are finished!!! You can cover your button with coordinating fabric, or just leave it plain. Sew or hot glue it on, and enjoy!!!!
